Our agency moved into a private office inside Innovation Depot this July. Before we moved in, the office staff asked us about WordPress. It turns out, they were already looking for a developer who could convert their site out of a custom CMS. The challenge for Webology: Innovation Depot wanted their new WordPress site to look exactly like the old site. This isn’t a big deal, but you have to know your way around Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to make it a reality. CSS is the code used to describe the layout and style of a website. It’s how we made an exact replica of the old Depot site in WordPress.

A Few Updates

If you clicked on the links above to compare the old and new site, you’ll see a few minor differences. We added floating social icons to all the pages and made some image updates to the homepage banner. I also encouraged the Depot staff to include their Vimeo video and a brief overview of Innovation Depot on the new homepage. It gives you a better idea of what the Depot is all about. Webology shares the building with over 100 other companies of various sizes. Innovation Depot has everything from shared space to private offices that can accommodate 15 or more employees. It’s a great place to be creative and collaborate with other companies in Birmingham’s tech scene.

FUN FACT: Innovation Depot used to be THE Sears Building. Ask anyone over 40 that grew up in Birmingham about it. Webology is located in what used to be the Lawn and Garden department. That makes us especially qualified to do Digital Marketing for landscaping companies. Or at least we like to think so.
