Who Am I? 

For those of you meeting me for the first time, I’m Caroline Moffitt, Webology’s Digital Content Director. After graduating from Auburn University in 2021, I found myself drawn to the fast-paced, ever-changing world of digital marketing. With incredible mentorship from Blake Akers, SEO specialist and CEO of Webology, I’ve honed skills that fuel my passion for creating content that cuts through the noise and delivers real results. 

Over the years, I’ve watched digital marketing evolve in fascinating ways. From pre-COVID to post-COVID practices, we’ve seen trends shift dramatically—sometimes for the better, sometimes not. Speed has often overtaken quality, while tools like AI are reshaping how we work. Yet one truth remains constant: content is the backbone of the internet, and as marketers, we hold the pen that writes the story.

What to Expect From Caroline’s Corner 

Starting this month, join me on a monthly content marketing adventure. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s brewing for 2025 in Caroline’s Corner:

  • SEO Tips & Tricks: From optimizing AI-generated content to mastering on-page SEO strategies, I’ll share actionable advice to help you rank higher and drive more organic traffic. 
  • Constructive Critiques: Let’s be real—some digital marketing trends need to go. I’ll call out common mistakes we’ve all seen (and maybe made), with advice on how to do better. 

And don’t worry, it won’t all be technical. This is your safe space to break free from bland, cookie-cutter content and embrace storytelling that connects. For example, wouldn’t it be amazing if the next time someone Googles “hidden gems in Nashville,” your blog is one of the top results? That’s exactly what we’ll work toward here. 

Why Caroline’s Corner? 

The beauty of this column is that my boss, Blake, lets me call the shots. This is my platform to show you that content writing doesn’t have to be a dry exercise in checking SEO boxes. It’s about storytelling, building trust with your audience, and creating connections that make people want to engage with your brand. 

Take your favorite influencer for example. They’ve made numerous videos that stop you in your tracks during a session of mindless scrolling. How is that?

Is their personality captivating, do their followers give them props on being “relatable”,  or do they share helpful daily hacks that you now use in your everyday life? For many people, social media can be used to pass time, but for others we turn toward platforms like TikTok and Instagram for inspiration, recommendations, or a way to have a good laugh.

Think about it… digital marketing isn’t just a service; it’s a partnership. Whether you’re running a small agency, freelancing from your favorite coffee shop, or managing a global team, you’re part of the engine that powers the online experience. Without content creators like us, your daughter might not see that ad for those viral leggings at a discounted price, you wouldn’t discover that family-owned restaurant where you’re having dinner next week, or you son may never run across that “Valentine’s Day 2025: Perfect Gift Ideas for Your Girlfriend” blog article. The internet does not only consist of short “Get Ready With Me” videos; it dives deeper thanks to us!

This column is my way of giving back—to you, the strategists, bloggers, and creators who make this digital landscape as dynamic as it is.

Free Digital Therapy

Want free digital therapy? Well, this isn’t the kind where I’m going to listen to your feelings. My title was misleading and sometimes that’s the point. Capturing someone’s attention is hard and keeping it is even harder.

The likes, the shares, and the comments do not come from following a template; they come from taking your content ideas a step further and making an effort to be unique.
